Wear you CR soccer gear tonight and do not cheer for USA. They are still very pissed about the "snow match" in Denver a few months ago and the game tying corner with 10 seconds left a few years ago that kept them out of the last world cup. Another USA victory will exacerbate their frustration  . This is a meaningless game for USA.

Go Costa Rica!!! :D

I know zip about futbol, but I don't think tonight's game is World Cup involved. Conicef or something like that, but not FIFA which I believe is the World Cup league? The next FIFA World Cup involved match between the US and CR is early September in SJ. Or are these related? It's not on TV in NY. I am trying to get tickets for September but no luck on line. Any suggestions?

Actually it's not a qualifying game. It's game 3 in the Copa de Oro. Going into the game Costa Rica and the US were tied for the lead in Group C.
Final score: US 1 CR 0

Now back to the All-Star Game.

Damn they must hate USA soccer in CR! We have just been beating them game after game for several years now!

The Ticos still hate Mexico a whole lot more. It goes back decades and the US is still the new guy in town.

Both the US and CR move on to the quarter finals in the Copa de Oro, so there could be a rematch.

Plus they meet in a World Cup qualifier here in CR in September (which is completely sold out, so it's Craig's List for anyone looking for tickets.)
