I was only in Jaco for one night ($45) last week and stayed at Hotel Ibiza which is chica-friendly. There is a $20 per guest/chica fee so take that into consideration. It's on the high side but not prohibitive. Chica IDs will be checked which is a plus. Ibiza is located about three blocks from the Cocal and right off the main street. Taxi rides to and from the Cocal are under 2 minutes for 1k colones. The rooms are big, clean, and modern with great instant hot water (individual boilers). The front desk staff spoke English and were helpful. There is also a small pool, full kitchen, and lounge area. The hotel is gated after some time at night and a posted security guard will let you in. There was some new construction going on for the upcoming high season. Ask for a second floor room facing the pool. I recommend Ibiza if you're looking to be away from the chaos of the Cocal.

I've stayed there as well. I can affirm the positive review.....and if you use a promo code from cheaptickets.com, a room at this hotel is even cheaper. It's a great deal, at least in the summer. Right now, in the heart of the tourist season, I'm sure it's more expensive, but so is everything.
