Did my first trip end of September, full TR here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=49409

For a while I thought a return trip was not possible but where there is a will, there is a way! I am renting a car and meeting friends in the La Fortuna area, so my mongering itinerary will be limited to two full days ( before arrival and departure).

I am getting SJO airport pickup/dropoff, so I am looking for safe garage parking for my vehicle while in SJ. I know Taormina offers complimentary valet but... with such limited time, I would prefer to stay at DR and just pay chica fees for location/convenience. My biggest problem is parking my rental! Anyone know if DR allows overnight parking? Do they have a garage somewhere nearby I don't know about? Any tips for parking needs in SJ?

My plan is DR as home base, maybe a date with Karen/Luna, maybe a visit to Monica's or Relax. Keeping it simple this time... no strip clubs, no MP tours, and farewell Zona II! I'm glad I got to stay there before it closed. :\

I will of course provide a detailed TR-- thanks in advance CRT!

There is a parking lot across the street and a garage down the street and down the avenue.

I don't think any of them would be free, unless DR has guest parking.

Overnight parking in SJ runs anywhere from $12-20/night and then $2/hr daytime.

Also, the lot across the street is VERY tight and they pack the cars in like sardines so I'm sure there are lots of door dings and scratches.

Zona II is not closed, just changed ownership.

Yikes! So parking for 24 hours could run anywhere from $40-$75 a day? I think I will stick with Taormina... that's an extra chica session :P

There is a garage across the street next to the Horseshoe Casino that del Rey customers can use. I parked there for a week about 8 years ago. Don't remember what the rate was and I am sure it has changed so check with the hotel desk to see what the guest cost will be. Taormina is probably your best option as parking is free.

There is another garage on Calle 11, between Ave. 1 and Ave Central, across the street from Hotel Asia. - - - about half a block from HDR.
