In talking and having drinks with him, I found him to be a cool guy and never witnessed any arrogance or pretense from him. I'm sure it's been a hard 2 years for him but he is out. I wondered if he'd survive the sentence given. Hat's off to his attorney.
I met him many years ago at the HDR, I found him to be a gracious funny guy, somewhat charismatic, dispensing advice, great sense of humor. What he endured was nothing less than a travesty of justice, arrogant 3rd world thugs using their antiquated justice system to seek vengeance on who they disdain.
That being said, he should have laid low when told to lay low, his arrogance in the face of obvious dangerous threats was dumbfounding. Always remember, this is no Disneyland for mongers, this is a third world country and they can bury you with their laws and Uncle Sam won't make any effort to save you so always lay low and use good judgement as best you can.
