Could someone tell a New Guy when the off season discounts are in The Gulch area Hotels, La Amistad, etc? I'm trying to set up my 2nd trip later this year. Gracias!

As soon as you board the plane to leave the Low season starts and when you book your trip the high season is in full swing. Seriously though unless you are there for Halloween or Superbowl, you will get discounts at all the CRT venues and even then you can get deals. I personally liked being there during Christmas and New Years along with Easter and tried to stay away from the sausage fests when everyone else was in town. It really depends on what you like to do and if you want to hang as a group with other like minded people. I had no problems meeting up with other CRT members at the local venues and making plans for going out to the different abodes or restaurants to eat, but I also spent a lot of time on my own looking for girls to take out that were actual dates instead of P4P.

There are no low season discounts in gulch hotels. At least I have never seen any. I have only seen low season discounts in the beach towns.

The Sportsmen's had an excellent CRT deal last summer with discounted rooms and a full breakfast.

Ok, true. There are occasional discounts offered by a couple of hotels for very limited date ranges (like mid-late December, Easter week, etc) where it's usually pretty dead.

In general though, you won't find high season and low season rates, like you will in the resorts and hotels on the coasts.

Yeah I jumped on the SL flash sale which I think was double the usual discount. Good deal.

Any CRTs know of times during June, July, August that you would NOT recommend hitting the Gulch? ie; school break, National Holiday or whatever.

I worked in the Netherlands for a while and they had a 2 week period every year where most businesses/factories shut down and the Country was on break. It made it impossible for tourists to get service and a place to stay. Was wondering if CR had a similar deal.

Just trying to pre-plan trip #2(keeping the dream alive)
Thanks! NJ

In Costa Rica, Mothers Day is in August..... I don't know the exact date this year. Talent can be scarce on Mothers Day.

I also think that the schools are closed for a short time in July....... when girls may leave town. Maybe somebody else knows about the dates.

Mother's Day in CR is tied to the religious holiday celebrating the Virgin Mary, August 15th (it is an official holiday, marked red in the calendar). Most businesses are closed.
