1/15/15 arrive on United Airlines from ORD 1pm
Depart 3pm for Panama City on United

I was wondering if I have to go out and then back through security to connect my connecting flight? From a map of the airport it does not appear that I need to, But asking to make sure. Appears to be a smaller airport so walk times between gates will be short?

Is there any special that would be helpful about this airport?
Will Vendors take US Dollars for snacks or will I need Mexican Pesos ?

It's been a long time since I flew into Monterrey but back then everything ran rather smoothly. It is a smaller airport & I don't believe you have to go out then go back in to catch your connecting flight. I never caught a connecting flight out of Monterrey so that's speculation on my part. I do remember once that we had to exit the stairs of the airplane & walk into the airport across part of the "taxi area" but then again it was a smaller jet.

Unless things have changed, they will be glad to accept the US dollar & of course scalp you a little on the exchange rate when giving change which you will receive in pesos. Take some smaller bills to use if you are only snacking at the airport so you don't get stuck with pesos that you can't use later.

Hope this helps.

You can always get about $100.00 worth of pesos from your bank before you go. It's convenient and just cost a few dollars.
