From the photos and videos I've seen of Gringo Gulch establishments, it looks like there are plenty of 7's and 8's, and sometimes 9's and 10's. Am I really wrong?

Also, if Gringo Gulch is mostly 6's and 7's, then where (in CR) does a monger go for 8's, 9's, and 10's?

So inflation hasn't been an issue for mongers? From reading all the 2009 - 2013 comments, it seems chica costs have not increased over the years.

Also, set up a burner phone and mock social media accounts. Download, learn to use and get comfortable with Google Translate(communication), WhatsApp (communication), Uber (transportation), UberEats (food, groceries, beer/soda, condoms, lube, etc), Waze (walking directions, traffic conditions, restaurant/store/bar/hotel/massage parlor locations). Learn some basic Spanish phrases, but just spend a little time each day practicing. If you must play with social media, wait until just before you leave then register and pay for a short term subscription. The 'free' versions are almost worthless.

Stay at Sportsmens but also Uber to Taormina and other locations. Take airport taxi TO the hotel, Uber when you go back. Use ATM to withdraw cash and credit card for purchases. Verify any international fees and inform them of your travel plans. Do tourist stuff during the day, Don't visit Christmas or Easter weeks.

Ask fewer questions, read more posts. Forget about ratings and what others pay, the scene is too fluid for that. Your questions should not be just phishing.

Here's another question. I hope it's not considered "phishing" or too basic by veteran mongers.

From reading posts, I understand that Gringo Gulch hotels provide safes for their guest rooms. I'm talking about small, durable safes permanently bolted into some concrete structure. Can't be moved.

In your experience, are these hotel safes really secure? Any indication that the chicas and/or hotel staff can easily breach these safes?

I've traveled to foreign countries in the past (as a tourist, not a monger) and discovered that, in some establishments, thieving hotel workers knew the safe combinations, had a master key, or knew sneaky ways to open the back of the safe. The hotel managers/owners were in on the scam.

Yep, that is phishing, your question already contains the answer. The only difference between CR hotel safes and those in other countries are the HIV boobytraps that explode when you first open one. Those are a bitch.

Instead, try accessing the Search function at the top of each page and searching for 'hotel safe' and you will get 775+ hits.

I'm using the search function right now, and sure enough, I'm finding an abundance of great info. Very, very helpful.

However, whenever I enter 'hotel safe' or "hotel safe" in the search field, I get over 7,000 results, because it's giving me all posts that contain the individual words "hotel" and/or "safe."

What am I doing wrong?

I told you the truth about the search function. I followed your instructions, but it didn't work (see above). You must have left out a detail or two.

Thanks for the helpful feedback, but based on everything I'm reading about hotel safes - in addition to experiences I've had abroad - I'm not confident that they are really "safe" in Gringo Gulch.

Question is, who besides me (at the establishment) will be capable of opening that safe, and how can I be certain they are not in my room when I'm not there? That's what worries me.

A better option might be to purchase super-tough luggage that's not easy to cut or hack into. Additionally, a strong luggage lock and the capacity to tether the bag to a heavy, unmovable piece of furniture may be best. That's my tentative opinion at present.

But I'll keep researching.

I pay $80.00 - $150.00 U.S., depending on time and services negotiated. Lowest I ever paid at the SL was $20.00 for a fun fifteen minutes.

As for the visual appeal of the chicas, I've been told that few rise above a grade of 7, more are clustered around the five to six range. Truly "hot" girls are available, usually through escort agencies and the like, but seldom in the Gulch. Yes, there are rare exceptions...but don't confuse a girl's appearance with her ability or desire to perform. Some of the most spectacular lays I've enjoyed in C.R. have been with women who are not "Tens." YMMV.

The fun (or lack of fun) you have depends mostly on your attitude. If you look for problems with a given girl, you'll find them. But if you stay light and relaxed, take things as they come and roll with it a little bit, you'll have a great time.

I always stay at either the Sportsmen's Lodge or the Castillo/Amistad hotels. SL has the best security of the three places, and I find it to be the most comfortable, convenient and elegant. CRT V.I.P. members always get a good discount. The hotel is clean and well- managed, the food is a 7 or 8 on a 1-10 scale (TexMex, bar food, great breakfasts, good steaks, great seafood options). Of my 34 trips to C.R. since 2004, I've stayed at the Sportsmen's about 26 of those visits. I like it.

Hint: Best cheap rooms are in the Clubhouse section of the hotel. For the mid- priced, Motel 6 style rooms in the "Modern" section, try to get a second floor room; El Dorado, Amante are both second- floor favorites. The Mansion is worth the extra money for the jacuzzis in the rooms, the quiet and privacy, and the 19th century elegance of the coffee empire days.

I understand both your frustration w the search button and concern about hotel safes. The gentleman who said a savvy chica will watch you open the safe and steal your code is spot on. That is your biggest concern. If you allow that to happen that is your fault for allowing it. As far as theft from a safe by hotel staff I have never even heard of one at LA/SL ever. It might have happened but I never heard it mentioned in years of monger stories. Outside of those two hotels, yes I have heard whispers and even a story or two.
Not really any different than any other country. If you aren't flashing large amounts of money or wearing very expensive jewelry it doesn't draw the wrong kind of attention. In that case I'd be more concerned with a room robbery but I digress.
