I had not been here for some time so I decided to stop in. Nice, clean, family owned restaurant. I have always had good meals here. I tried the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce and it was excellent. Rice or potatoes and fresh.....not overcooked.....veggies. Washed everything down with an Inca Cola. Good pricing and worth a stop at lunchtime.

Great post. Funny, Soda Peru and the Tica owner are about the only constant on that block/street last 20 years! I love that place! Great food, service. Regular business Ticos eat there....

About 3-5 years ago we sessioned at Zona/Havana and ended up there an hour later for lunch...we were people watching outside and a couple a good looking young Regular Ticas were walking down the street in jeans....when they passed us, we realized it was the Chicas we sessioned with....too funny!

Yup, it’s a tradition for me and perfectly located while on “the walk!”

Went twice about two weeks ago- steak and French fries and veggies the first time and chicken with veggies the second.
Both times took a to go box with enough for a whole meal later. Very good.

Love soda Peru, been going since my first visit to CR in 2001 the woman that runs the place is as sweet as can be she always is very accommodating. Try the papa huquhania that's not spelled correctly but it is boiled potatoes in a yellow cheese sauce, then order a big bowl of the seafood soup.

I tried to google Soda Peru but it doesn't come up on google maps, I'm only getting Soda Lima. Does it go by any other name?

Is it located by Bar Poas, across the street and up the hill from Hotel Little Havana?

I love Soda Peru. A must-visit at least once every trip. Only downside is they do close early so best to hit it around 2pm after the lunch crowd clears out. My favorite, corvina a lo macho, a mild white fish similar to sea bass in a spicy red sauce.
