I haven't seen any 2016 reports on recommended Jaco restaurants. Since these places come and go so often do any of you veterans who have recent visits to Jaco have any recommendations? I will be in Jaco for 3 days late next week. Thanks in advance.

Amancios for Italian...
Lemon Zest for dinner...
Sunrise Breakfast for breakfast...
Rusticos for cheap buffet Tico food...
Croc's for a burger or VERY fine dining...
Taco Bar for fish tacos...
Los Amigos for good 'generic bar' food...
Soda Raquel for inexpensive casados...
Poseidon hotel for a fairly priced and excellent dinner...
Cocal for chicken strips...
Pops for ice cream....(and on CRT, GREAT advice)

Then you have Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC and some other generic fast food.

I enjoyed 'The Green Room' in Jaco. It's just a 30 second walk from the main gate at the Cocal and on the left side of the street. I found it a place of sanity away from the craziness of the Cocal. After a day or two at the Cocal, one gets to appreciate sitting down to eat and having a few drinks without gorgeous babes constantly approaching you offering their expertise for 'cien'. Believe it or not, getting hit on constantly can get annoying! LOL.

The staff at the Green Room were friendly, English speaking, and the menu and drinks were reasonable. There are actually non-working Gringas that hang out there also. Give it a try.

I'm surprised El Hicaco (just south of the Cocal) has not been mentioned. It's right on the beach, and the seafood is excellent! They've been in business for many years. I first ate there in 2000.

Agreed, I've heard excellent things about it. It wasn't on my list because I can't afford to eat there. Tried once...but didn't get past the menu prices.

fukin expensive breakfasts ... but the best French Toast I have found.

There's that '50s diner place outside of the pizza place. He does a nice breakfast as well.

They have a very good Filet Mignon with jalepeño potatoes ... not exactly 'generic' but damned good.

Have to add something new...pizza at Cocal. They offer several varieties and are about the right size for one person if your really hungry...and only $9. The one I had last weekend was fantastic but the one this past weekend wasn't quite as good but still a good bargain.
