The poker room at the Mona Lisa is open and doing quite well.Poker room is open at 2pm until there are not enough warm bodies to play. (1-2 blinds with $100 minimum buy-in). The Casino table games are currently closed. The machines are still open.

I just read somewhere that they raised the limits on there games. I'm not sure if it was the poker room or the table games. Guess it really don't matter now. Did you hear why they closed the table games??...I know in Vegas you have to have enough cash on hand to cover every chip ...I wonder if that was an issue??

I spoke with Guy and was informed that an investor bought the casino part of the business. It sounded like the previous dealers might have been on the inside, thus the casino was losing money. So an investor who operates casinos already in San Jose, is going to pay rent and bring his team into the Mona Lisa to operate the Casino. Sounds like the Mona Lisa is contracting the parts of the Hotel out. I think they now leasing out the restaurant as well as the casino, Russ's store as well

I don't trust any of those table games. I have played and lost so many hands in a row I lost count. I also watch people betting and as soon as they up their bets, the dealers go on amazing long runs of winners. It's hard to trust the games when there is nobody really looking over there shoulder and keeping tabs. I have also worked in Las Vegas and just got used to all the games being on the up and up. I'm not implying Mona Lisa is or was doing anything shady. I have only played poker there, but have played table games at other places and would advise everyone to save their money for the Chicas..it's hard to gamble any substantial money knowing theres no gaming commission watching your back. For me, I don't come there to gamble, if you wanna gamble go to Vegas ...

There is one good reason why there is no cheating at the Mona Lisa or any other casino in SJ. They don't have to.That's my pretty knowledgeable opinion
