Apologies to PVT in advance!

Aside the options presented in previous responses, Uber is also now an option:

Quote:
Fare Quote SJO to Barrio Amon:

uberX 8.548-11.234 CRC (about 16 - 21 USD at current exchange rates)
uberVAN 16.161-21.218 CRC (about 30 - 40 USD)

And there's always the possibility you may run into a familiar (female) face picking you up :)

mh

I recommend Jose Alverez. #506-8787-1894 You can PM me for more information. Or whatsapp him. He has a van very good condition speaks good english, very trustworthy. He also has wifi. and a bar. lol

You can always use Michael Taxi I've known him for at least five years and he should have his brand new taxi on the road now. He can probably get you anything you need 011 506 8626 7344

I just returned from 4 nights at the Cocal in Jaco and 3 nights at the Sportsmen. Don at One Lucky Dog arranged my rooms. Great rooms!! He he was there at the airport to meet me on arrival, took me to Jaco with a stop to see the Crocodiles off the bridge. He knows the folks at Cocal well. He was there on time to take me to San Jose 4 days later and picked me up after that to take me to the airport. Great service, great guy! I never met Sid (the old owner of One Lucky Dog) so I can't compare them. Don was great for me as a newbie.

Don from One Lucky Dogg. 506-7048-3760. It's a travel biz in CR. Gringo guy. I used him to book my stay in the Gulch last month. He booked my rooms at La Amistad and Taormina and picked me up at the airport and one of his guys brought me back to the airport when I left. Since it was my 1st trip to CR, it was nice dealing with a fellow Gringo. Nice guy. Gave me many good pointers, including telling me about CRT and the discounts available.

Don at One Lucky Dog made my reservations for me. He does not charge. He gets his percentage from the Hotels. He only charges for the car rides. All you have to do is contact him, tell him what days (nights) you will be in Costa Rica and the Hotel preferences you desire, and he will take it from there and make your reservations. He will update you regularly via email and also give you advice if you have questions. Great guy from the St Louis area, a die-hard Cardinal fan. I found it to be quick, easy, and convenient. He can get rooms when the Hotels themselves say they have no openings.

Don Emery at One Lucky Dog. Here is his email, he responds quickly: info@oneluckydogg.com . Yes, that is correct, 2 g's in dogg.

I have been going to CR for about 10 years now and my best friend is a Tico. Very fluent in English and can pass for a Gringo. Excellent wingman and knows everyone. I would trust him with my life.

His WhatsApp and cell is 506 6067 5757

I am looking for an English speaking dependable driver with nice vehicle, preferably 4x4 for a 2-3 day excursion to Guantacaste region to see the volcanoes and Jungles etc. Ideally I want someone who has done similar trips before so is quite well familiar with flora and fauna and can show me some sights on the way and over there as well
Any suggestions?
And how much per day am I looking for?
Alternatively I can fly but don't want to miss chance to see beautiful CR on the way.
Please advise

Does anybody have contact info for a dependable driver in Guanacaste? I have some friends travelling there to do touristy stuff and they need to get picked up from Liberia airport and taken to Flamingo. Then during the week, they will want to go out to eat and trips.

They speak fluent Spanish so English is not necessary.

Thanks.

Hello, myself, my brother and my cousin will be arriving in the early part of Dec.
We were wondering what is the best/safest way to get from the airport to La Amistad? Do you know of any shuttle systems?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Airport orange taxi now is $35 to gulch hotels. They will let you pay with a credit card so you need not try to exchange money at the airport.

Even at 35usd it's a bargain. No dicking around with the crowd outside and they drive fast!
