Wow, I guess I need to cancel my Reservation.

Did you ever get any confirmation of the $15 chica fee? Given the location reservation desk and the proximity of the Sportsbar to the elevators, it seems it would be kinda hard to enforce a chica fee unless you actually went up to the desk to have them hold the girl's ID.

Taormina security will stop the chica and ask her to register at the front desk. In fact, the chicas have to check in with the security guy at the door, THEN go to the front desk to get their cedula checked, and the guest has to sign for the chica.

There is a security guard at the casino entrance who is also monitoring the elevators.

Stayed there for a week in January. Mona Lisa and then Taormina has been my favorite since they reopened. I have watched the downward spiral in my opinion since Harold was let go after a big blowout with Ron S.. After my last stay I now know it was my in fact my last stay. I did have a long and disappointing visit with Diego which out of respect I will not go into details but I am convinced there is little reason to look forward to a return visit. The restaurant has seen increases in price while decreasing portions and quality. The breakfast buffet which used to be ok is now pretty close to disgusting. The quality and courtesy of the staff has really suffered especially the front desk and to a lesser extent the casino. House keeping standards are much lower than they used to be. What I had heard as a rumor on my last visit I see now is a reality. There is no longer any cancellation policy for reservations. You book it and there is no refund if you have to cancel, no exceptions. Rooms are overpriced and it is now obvious the remodeling was not a high quality job as rooms are already showing wear and tear. Cleanliness is not a high priority apparently. The bathroom had a pretty noticeable infestation of ghost ants which I notified the front desk several times but nothing was done. Not whining as I have over 50 stays in the last few years there and I am going to miss the place but I am done there. In my opinion the only hope for this place is if Ron S. decides to dump it and its bought by a businessman with some people smarts.

Can this be confirmed!

I am staying at the Toarmina right now as I type this, brother. I paid $15 chica fee for the past 2 days. It's confirmed. Matter of fact, one of the security guys who was manning the front-desk yesterday asked me for $25 chica fee. I told him it's $15 and not $25. Then he acted as if he wasn't sure. Mfer, he was probably conning people to pay more and keep the rest of the cash for himself. Doucebag. I didnt complain to the management yet, but I think I should because this kind of dishonesty is not good for their business. I think Del Rey security guys are way superior in terms of honesty. I misplaced my cellphone 2x (which I rarely do it in the States, but for some reason it happened 2x for me and I got back to it within 2 minutes of leaving it on the table) during the last 4 visits . The security guys promptly took hold of it and returned to me when I went back to the table where I lost it.

100% accurate. This is my first stay in Taormina and thats exactly how they handle the chicas.

MGM1456 thank you for the "boots on the ground intel". Who the hell needs uncertainty especially at the checkered history of the Taormina(fka Mona Lisa). There ain't no Guy Grands to back us anymore at that property. Rudy and Matt will always be in our corners as well as Bill at the SL!
