Does the FreeBird hotel have its own web site? Can't seem to locate it on google.

I walked by there today but do not know the current statis. It still says Freebird on the sign but Denis has had it for sale for a while and I noticed today that the "for sale" sign is gone.

FYI> I was looking for "new chica friendly hotel" & walked by 02/15/16 for possible reservations?
I rang the buzzer box on the left of the FB property & no answer nor response!
The tica tenant who lives in the back of FB told me in Spanish "cerado"= closed!
Also talked with another expat who confirmed FB closed because did not have proper permits to operate and/or owed gov't back taxes?

My understanding is dennis went back to the states to receive medical treatment. At this time it is closed. Please feel free to correct me if anyone knows otherwise.

I heard the same on my last visit. I truly wish the best for Dennis, and hope that he can return to CR and resume his life as quickly as possible.

If anyone has "horse's mouth" updates on the Freebird, please post.

The FreeBird is closed.

Dennis has returned to the USA permanently to address his health concerns.

Dennis passed away in Florida yesterday.
He had battled prostate cancer for some time.

His tagline on his Freebird website used to read, "I'd rather live one day as a Lion than a lifetime as a Lamb."
Dennis lived many days as a Lion.
May he rest in peace.
