Post subject: | Newark EWR questions |
In January 2014 I may be coming into the country by way of EWR. to get better price and departure time from MDE, so I am about how hard it is to get through the airport, pick up luggage and the n get back into airport for connection flight-- I have a 2-3 hour time frame. Does EWR have Global Entry, and if so where are the machines after you get off the plane on your way to customs exists. Any suggestions on how to do this form experienced EWR's by taking this route my ticket could be $50-70 less, parking at my home airport $50 less, and I cut off travel time to from the airport by about 90 minutes, save some funds but if airport is worse then IAH ( Houston) enough I pay more and go through MSP route.... right now the only down side is being in Duluth MN January ( if you been there in Jan, then you know what I mean) Thanks in advance |

EWR does have Global Entry, but since I never use them, I'm not sure where they are located. |

Which airline? 2 to 3 hours should be more than enough to get through immigration and to your next gate but my experience flying domestically on united this year has piss poor at best. Not sure about the global entry as most of my flying is domestic in and out of the A terminal. |

EWR is pretty fast usually in comparison to Houston, Miami, or Chicago. However they are idiots for secondary screening. I've been pulled aside on 1 hour connections and made it fine though. So you should be more then fine. It is a horrible airport for delays. Customs is oddly not so bad most of the time. |

thank you United airline--- flying this because, one flight, extra card for my buddy and windshield for my new UTV equals a free flight next winter, got their CC for the 30,000 bonus miles |

My only concern would be a greater chance of a weather delay / cancellation in January . The risk is much greater by using EWR rather than MSP. They are quick to shutdown east coast airports in the winter time, especially after people were stranded / abandoned on the tarmac for about 10 hours a few years ago by Jet Blue (doubt that will again). |

Thank you Flabuck, that the information travel sites don't tell you... Think I take the more expensive rt to avoid any chance of this |
