I stayed in the hotel Castillo for 4 days

Pro
Free breakfast
Rooms are great
King size rooms with balcony

Con
No kitchen yet

Rooms

King size rooms: great room.. Huge balcony.. Bathroom is small but good. Terrific sheets and pillows.. Good towels

Tip
Request room 23 second floor great view and huge balcony

Penthouse: massive. Great bed.. Huge bathroom can fit at least two chicas and yourself. Connecting balconys.. Can be real good if you come with a friend and he in the penthouse next to yours.

Tip
Request the third penthouse or the first if solo. More privacy on the balcony

Wifi
Great.. No problems with laptop, tablet or phone.

Comparison to Amistad

Rooms. The rooms are nice in Castillo.. Penthouse amazing
King rooms with balcony :P

Final thoughts
Once the kitchen is done and if the all inclusive deal is in place. It will be hard to decide between the Amistad and Castillo

That pork chop is hard to say no to

Also, I would recommend staying in either the king size room with balcony or penthouse

I recently had a tour of the "New" Castillo. The front desk clerk proudly showed us around.

All I can say is WOW !!!!

Thanks for the Penthouse tip. I stay at Penthouse 1 , it's more private compared to the others and it might be the most requested when the bar is finished depending on how many exits the bar will have.

my guess is no jacuzzis for a few reasons
the water bill
the cleanup and damage from guys who turn it on before water is over the jets and soak the room lol
drunk people getting injured
people not being able to follow instructions harassing the staff every night
nasty unmentionable things
other

And maintenance. Anything like that is (1) stupid expensive in CR (2) almost impossible to find qualified (and dependable) people to fix and (3) spare parts are unobtainable.

I spend a ridiculous amount of time and money on the pool and hot tub at the Lodge. And AC. And I have 12 fishing boats to keep running.

People ass-u-me that you just buy things / get things fixed like you do in the US. No. It's like doing business in the US in the 1950s - with no phone book, catalogs, or trade magazines.

I literally take pictures of trucks on the road to get contact information.

I was there last week. Don said should be done in about 2 months. The bar and kitchen space looks very impressive.
