You are probably correct. To many members on here and ISG like to elevate their status above the rest of the mongers, even though they are doing the exact same thing, and call us out. I will give him a pass and congratulate him again on his current happiness.

not exactly jaded to say it still comes down to a transaction
money is exchanging hands or that spiritual thing ends pretty quickly
and if you don't live there the chances of her being yours alone is pretty remote
doesn't make her or you a "bad" person

The trick is money in the bank, having decent amount of time on the job, owning a car, and owning a home. The US wants to be sure they will return home. Also not being involved in the sex business is a must. If the feds find that one out they are toast. There are travel agencys that will help but you have to buy their packaged tour and she will need to go with them if they get her a visa. Once they get a visa and return home I understand the next one will be easier. On the other side of the coin the more declines they get the harder it is to obtain a visa.

This makes sense. Professionals , like dentists, doctorss, business owners, etc. , get approved 95% of the time. Bank accounts, income, home ownership, i.e. reasons to return to CR, are part of the approval process. There are other programs allowing visas to hard working self employed professionals; family in the states, marriage to a US citizen, student visas, visas for those with job offers in the US, a dedicated care giver to an ailing older gringo, et. al., and numerous other ways, including direct sponsorship of the applicant.

It's more difficult if you have no visible means of support, no bank account, and the only public record is your name listed as a frequent guest at a downtown hotel.
