[quote="Ilv4play"]Usually, rice with beans in their juice, chopped up chicharrones, diced tomatoes, avocado is usually extra but worth it. Add the orange-colored salsa to it or bring your own as its not very spicy. Also, it is served with tortilla chips, but I think the chips are made from gold as you only get enough for about a 1/4 of an order.
Below is a link to a picture and some of the costa rican dished you should try.

Bar Poas has it on the menu but I have never ordered it (or even seen it) so I cannot comment on the quality.

Yeah, I forgot about Poas, I've had it there, it's good, but watch out for the bones from the pork.

Also, it's on the Hotel DelRey bar menu. Have a snack while contemplating your date selection.

I have never had a bad meal at Chubbs, but it it gets full of loud ticos in the evenings. Ocasionally a working girl there, but don't count on it.

Bar Río de Janeiro, either Escazú ir Barrio México. The best one you'll ever have.

I’ve always liked P3, above El Tstador by the fat lady on Ave Central.

It's pretty good at Bar Poas for 2500¢. There is a soda just up the hill from Done Inn that has it on their banner. Haven't tried it yet.

Castillo had it on my last visit and it was tasty. A good lunch or light evening dish. :)

I see someone referred to it as a 'snack'. Huh? You must have a much bigger appetite than I do. jajajaja

All chifrijos are not created equally as the meat differs from smoked to fried chicharrones, carne y grassa (meat with lots of fat) and tostada: fried to a crackly tooth-breaking krunch pieces of pig skin. Occasionally you'll get a stray hair with the tostada: great for flossing! Also, it does not normally contain 'chopped up tomatoes', but chimichurri (tomatoes, mandarina juice, onion and cilantro).
When it is really good, it is hard to beat.
By far, thee best is in PZ.
