Apart from Taormina is there a really good Chifrijo restaurant around the gulch. I have heard of Cordero's Bar in Tibas I believe. Also apart from Soda Peru has anyone been to Soda Lima on calle 2 between ave. 6 and 8 ? |

In the gulch, chifrijo can be found @ Hotel Taormina sports bar Chubbs restaurant La Linea bar, cattycorner from Hotel La Amistad Hotel Morazán, @ the upstairs restaurant Hostel Selena, just south. of the SL, @ the corner of Av. 9 |

Chifrijo is more or less a snack, or an appetizer, and so you probably would not find restaurants that feature it. Lots of the bars have it as bar food, especially in downtown San Jose. I have had it as a small meal. |

What zackly is chifrito? In all my visits. Never had it. I always thought it was chili with chips. |

Usually, rice with beans in their juice, chopped up chicharrones, diced tomatoes, avocado is usually extra but worth it. Add the orange-colored salsa to it or bring your own as its not very spicy. Also, it is served with tortilla chips, but I think the chips are made from gold as you only get enough for about a 1/4 of an order.
