Could I get a recommendation or 2 for a good Peruvian restaurant in the San Jose area. Looking for something a little more upscale where I can take a date, not a Soda type place. I went to one 4 or 5 years which I liked but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. Thank You.

Machu Piccu.

They have two, with the same menu. One is off of Paseo Calon, the other is near Mall San Pedro. Both are very nice, with good food and good prices for what you get.

The one by mall San Pedro is the one I am familiar with and has the benefit of being close to the Jazz Cafe for some fun after dinner. Go past the roundabout at mall San Pedro and the first street you can turn right on make the turn, there is a park on the other side of the street before you turn. Then the second street turn left it is one way so you cant miss it, then turn left again at the 4th intersection and you will see it. Great food. This is a link for the menu http://www.restaurantemachupicchu.com/c ... eruana.php

Machu Pichu - Good food, a bit run down, but the best Peruvian in town IMO.

Inca Grill - Great looking restuarants, everything is good except the food.

Soda Lima- If you decide you want to try a soda-like place with excellent Peruvian food for very reasonable price, give them a try.
On Calle 2 about 2 blocks south of Ave 2. I eat there often for their grilled fish.
