Does anyone know if this is closed or open?

It is now called the Taco Bar. Same location, just off the main drag, behind Dos Amigos.
Some will say that it was never Jaco Taco, but I know I ate there in Feb/2014 & it was called Jaco Taco. Salad/fixins island, line up to order, swings for chairs lining the outside of the bar area. Excellent food.

Jaco Taco is on the main drag and was boarded up two weeks ago. It is near the first entrance into Jaco? I think we are talking two different places.

Jaco Taco behind Los Amigos was running strong July 4 weekend

Jaco Taco (on the north end of town) is closed up tight. The Taco Bar downtown behind Los Amigos is open.

The buzz around Jaco in July was the Gringo owner of Jaco Taco passed away.
He went to the US for medical treatment and never made it back.
The estate doesn't want the hassles of operating the business. They are not interesting in leaseing out the business/property either.
They want the property sold.
Used to be a great very late night spot for grub and late night party animals.

The original Taco Bar is in Jaco.
They now have at least 3 other locations Escazu,Santa Ana, & Pinares.


Jaco Taco is a totally different business and location.

I think I will buy it and rename it "The Bearded Taco in Jaco".

Steve, the Gringo Owner of Jaco Taco didnt pass away but he did decide to return to the US. Its closed for now but sale is going through final stages now to a new owner.
