My information is a bit more current as I showed the property to a prospective purchaser this am. The White House Hotel was sold a couple years ago and was re named the Grand Tara. The new owners (Grand Tara) lost it in foreclosure a few months ago. Currently it's on the market for sale, run by a skeleton staff of caretakers, guards and a receptionist. The restaurant, bar, casino and spa are closed for business.
My feeling is the old White House will be sold as a family compound, embassy home or a medical recovery center.
If you're looking for a great view restaurant to bring a date, you can try Tequecia in San Antonio Escazu or the Monastery, in the hills but near the Santa Ana line.
Damn ! That's sad news, I loved that place, been there for lunch many times, really beautiful atmosphere and view, fun and beautiful ride up there.
Right now I have a letter from Publisher's Clearing House telling me my number is in the potential winner group and my chances are excellent. As soon as I win I'll be calling you, I'm going to want it as a private home where select top chicas of my choosing can come visit and get away for a few days, maybe like a Hugh Hefner compound.
I'll be paying cash by what it's telling me here, I'm also interested in helicopter rentals, I remember the place had a nice helipad, I think we can land on the roof of HDR. Will be calling soon, it says in less than 2 months I'm going to win !!!
