FYI - One of my regulars tested positive for COVID about 10 days ago . She was given a "orden sanitaria" and ordered to isolate at home. While she did not list me on her contact tracing , she also didn't say anything to me for a week . Once I found out, I stopped seeing anyone and stopped going out. I used Rappi and Glovo for food and had my medications (insulin) delivered from Clinica Biblica.

I never had any symptoms and it has been 2 weeks since my last contact with her. I check my temp, O2, and other stats daily and they all tested normal. I am an 61 year old, obese, diabetic with hypertension, COPD, arthritis, and renal insufficiency who has had two organ transplants and a pacemaker.

CR has no antibody tests, only PCR for active virus. I guess that means I am in the clear (this time). I still plan on laying low another week, then 'back in the saddle'. Living has its risks .

I contracted bacterial endocarditis in March 2017, aortic and mitral heart valve replacement (11 hour surgery). No independent heartbeat 72 hours later, so a pacemaker was inserted (5 hour surgery). Followed by respiratory and kidney failure, I spent 2 months sedated on a ventilator. Once I began therapy, I had hypercapnia (CO2 poisoning) and oxygen deprivation, I still have PTSD and cognitive changes from this. My lungs filled with fluid and needed to be drained several times. It was at this point I contracted MRSA in the blood and had to go through a 6 week IV antibiotic (vancomycin) drip. Also had several small strokes along the way leaving me with nerve damage in both hands. I had to relearn how to swallow, feed myself, clean myself, and walk. Released from rehab center that August two weeks after my older brother died and one month before my younger brother was to. BTW, I also have Multiple Myeloma (cancer). 2017 was not my best year.

I came to the SL in March 2018 to celebrate being alive. First trip I was in a 4-wheeled walker. I decided to sell all my US properties and relocate to CR. Slowly, poco a poco, I built my strength to where I walk with only the occasional help of a cane. I have an array of medical support gear here and see Endocrinologist, cardiologist and vascular specialists regularly at Clinica Biblica. I sold my last US property in January of this year. I am in the process of getting CR residency.

I am not as good as I once was, heck, I'm not even as good ONCE as I ever was, but I still have sex three times a week with chicas 40 years younger than me (nothing under age). CR has more ups than downs. Life is good.

My best friend had all the above, almost died when admitted to the hospital this was on July 4th last year. He is still going thru shit but making progress and getting better. They are still undecided on the pacemaker but almost 2 months in the hospital was a total Phucker for him and his family. Luckily they have good insurance but so far the bills are almost 2 million frickin dollars.
