Are we still supposed to wear seatbelts?

I'm afraid so, but only while driving or riding in a car :D :D

You know I'm old enough to remember when seatbelts first came out. Of course we didn't have the internet way back then, but I remember stories in the paper about people claiming they didn't make a difference in car accidents and you shouldn't be forced to wear them. In some ways we haven't really changed much over time when you think about it.

Yep, and now we barely notice them. Effective or not, masks are the new seatbelts, especially during flu season.

I hope everybody adheres to the new guideline of wearing goggles in addition to masks while banging chicas. I'll be out there shaming the non-gogglers.

I'd recommend putting on a cape, gives it a superhero look, and we'll need all the help we can get, as we take the battle to Flu Manchu.

I don't think the idea that prescribing something off label is necessarily the problem and this certainly is not killing hundreds or thousands of people. The problem is going out and declaring it to be a cure for something it's not. There are people who actually need the drug to treat conditions that it is effective against. When you tout something as a cure, then suddenly everyone rushes out to stockpile that product and the people who really need can't get the medicine. The other problem is people start to think that they can just take a pill and be fine and they stop following any other social practices to help slow the spread. It was an idea, we tried it, it doesn't work, let's move on.

Big pharma and our pill culture is another problem all to itself. It was here before covid and will still remain after. Unfortunately there's too much money to be made and I don't see that getting better soon.

You keep using the word "cure". I don't think they are saying it is a cure, just a drug that helps mitigate the symptoms and accelerate recovery in those who can be recovered. However I am not interested in a debate, just my $.02.

Cheers!

They called it a cure in the video that was removed from the internet that was retweeted. The words aren't really important though since most people when they hear mitigates symptoms and helps recovery think cure and it doesn't do any of those things anyway.

Sounds good. If it would help me get on a plane to San Jose sooner I would paint my fat ass Burnt Orange and run bucked naked through College Station

Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
We're on the move!
Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
We've got the groove!

There's been so many things that's held us down
But now it looks like things are finally comin' around
I know we've got, a long long way to go
And where we'll end up, I don't know

But we won't let nothin' hold us back
We're putting our selves together
We're polishing up our act!
If you felt we've been held down before

I know you'll refuse to be held down anymore!
Don't you let nothing, nothing
Stand in your way!
I want ya'll to listen, listen

To every word I say, every word I say!
Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
We're on the move!
Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!

We've got the groove!
Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
We're on the move!
Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
We've got the groove!

The latest news is that over the last 5 months, 200 people have passed away from a virus .

We sure have seen lots of pain and suffering in many different forms far exceeding 10 deaths a week.
Makes me wonder.

Of the 200 deaths in the past 5 months. About 60 were last week and about 175 were in the last month. Not headed in a good direction.
