Interesting stuff for a guy who loves cigars. I never knew there were so many import taxes on cigars. After I posted I remembered a couple of details about the cigars I bought from "The Cigar Guy". Rudy called him Johnny The Cigar Guy. The cigars had a "Puriscal" label. I looked online and could not find anything similar. Very tasty cigar for sure. Might have been some counterfeit label, who knows.

I did find in my searches of Costa Rican cigars the following website: https://www.tabacordilleracr.com/

They do appear to have some decent deals on cigars from Costa Rican grown tobacco. Sounds like it is worth checking out. Thanks for all the information, guys.

One final note: It sure seemed like it was a pain in the ass to find a place convenient to smoke a cigar. Hell, I had to go out on the curb to smoke at La Amistad. Anyone know of a more convenient place for a brother monger to smoke a cigar besides HDH? It is kind of a big deal in CR on where you can smoke up.

I have never had the pleasure of trying a Padron, but would love to. They are highly regarded and expensive in the USofA. My favorite so far of the cigars I have enjoyed is the Arturo Fuente Hemingway. What a nice smoke, seriously. You can buy one for about $8. I like a good Punch Maduro also, but the Hemingway has it beat in my book...

There are some very good, inexpensive Argentinan and Chilean Malbecs, in the Duty-Free store in Baggage claim once you clear customs in San Jose. Do not waste your money in the Duty-Free stores in the USA.
