No beer, he said he's working on the license for that. You can bring your own though... I did. The atmosphere is like that of a chip truck at the side of the highway in the country. No TVs or music or anything. Primarily a takeout joint with literally a couple tables.

After reading about this place, thought I would give it a try. It´s a one and a half to two hour drive for me. I live betweeen San Ramon de Alejuela and Zarcero. Shitty weather and all, I went today.
It was well worth the trip. Everything was outstanding. Spent 40K on take out. I got a big family!!
If you like Bar B Q, I highly recommend this place.

Hi from Big Bill's Q and appreciate everyone's input. Big Bill's Q is now open 7 days and so now you can come down and have that brisket every day or have it delivered to you (and all the other goodies). Note that for large orders, it is a good idea to order in advance.

We also cater to parties so you can treat your friends at home, office or hotel.

It is my pledge to offer Q that makes you say "Wow, damn that's good stuff".

Cheers,

Big Bill

Hi, Big Bill here again....sorry for the change, but Monday's do not work out and we will be closed on Mondays and open all other days.

PS... We can offer special dishes and cook for special events upon request. Some of my specialties that can be ordered in advance are killer steaks, very special buffalo wings (guaranteed to be the best you ever ate), rack of lamb that took 1st place in US National competition, half hogs and turkeys.

We will soon include an area operated by a longtime seafood business that will offer incredible seafood cooked over wood.

Ya'll come back now, ya hear.

Big Bill

See you in Jan - sounds fantastic, as the food in CR - never mind

2 things:

From the Central part of SJ, how about some more detailed directions - saw the previous post but still could use some better directions, even from just the Marriott.

Either become a sponsor, or at the very least a paid member - you have gotten off "easy" b/c of the need for decent res'ts and we all LOVE BBQ :)

Just an update. I would stick with the brisket. The pulled pork I got today was greasy and not edible. It should never be served in this fashion.

Big Bill here again...the pulled pork is normally served with the drippings. Just ask for it without. I aim to please.

Just want to post a shout out to bill at Bill´s BBQ. This past weekend I ordered a 10 Kg whole shoulder from him for a party I was having at my farm.
It was outstandind. Everyone at the party had nothing but positive comments on the quality and flavor of the meat.

Bill redeemed himself for me today. Sorry for posting negative comments, but I call it like I see it and the pork was oily that time, enough so that I threw most of it out. I note Bills comment about the drippings for next time.

Today the brisket was fantastic, so I will be back soon!

Will probably give the pulled pork another try, without drippings... will report back!

Hangman.....just a thought...I have my servers normally reserve for me the crispy portions of the pulled pork as they are totally greaseless and special crispy, like edges of bacon. Identify yourself to me next visit, or better before so that I can reserve them for you. I will make you a happy man. Want a special dish? Rack of lamb or whatever...just ask. I will endeavor to make that dish the best you ever ate. That's what makes me happy is to make you say, damn that was good.33
