According to Cuba Dave's sob tear filled story ... OIJ and the National Police (Fuerza Pública) started the 'Persecution of Cuba Dave' ( his words not mine) with his arrest at the airport on his way home to Florida from a vacation trip to San José, Poor Little “Cuba Dave” found himself at the mercy of Costa Rica’s so-called justice system (SURPRISE) where he realizes almost immediately he has no rights in any meaningful sense because he was forewarned about posting and therefore OIJ has singled him out to be the only person ever prosecuted under a so-called dubious law that tries to make it illegal to write about the fact that Costa Rica IS a sex-tourist destination. As troubling as that may seem, they are deadly serious about that fact.
Even without evidence or actual charges, Dave was denied bail and put into ‘preventative detention’ in a over crowded squalid filled, grossly overcrowded, third-world lock up along with the regular suspects: murderers, Ch*ld rapists and even a cannibal. So my suggestion is if you want to be a Cuba Dave have at it... there always room next to the commode in San Rafael
