My previous plans fell through when the guys that invited me to CR cancelled. So I am past due for Colombia and this time MDE in on my radar and with another CRT veteran and he speaks spanish. I am going to start brushing up on my spanish as I have been neglecting a little. So see you homos soon.

Well I will be there the same time as you if you are interested in meeting up and doing some exploring or at least get a drink.

I am not doing the mansion either. Trying to decide if I want to do the Apartment Hotel Montes the whole time or split my time between there and Kiwi Hostel, only reason for the Kiwi is just to be around other travels so I am not alone.

Oh I understand. I was more looking for people to explore the city with, not stay with. I am happy having my own place. If you care to meet up that would be cool, I am easy to get along with.

Buddy not to sound like a dick, but you only have 9 posts. You could be anyone. You don't have any credibilty on here. It could be a set up for failure or robbery. Your best off staying at Mansion if its your first time in Colombia. My Novia may fly into mde from Periera so I can not stay at Mansion this trip. Nor can I be around a bunch of gringos. I blend in well into the Colombian lifestyle. People really think I am Colombian, except for my size. We plan to go walk the streets of Pablos neighborhoods. I am bringing candy for the ninos we encounter on the way.

Just my opinion...but Medellin is not about "hanging out" with other Gringos.....Medellin is all about spending time with the Paisas & immersing yourself in the culture.....

I spoke with Buddy on the phone & he seemed to be a super nice guy who is just looking for some travel buddies to hang out with in Medallo.....He might be better off at The Mansion or the SL.   Actually his best option would be a private room at Casa Kiwi in Parque Lleras. Casa Kiwi is a very social place!!

Medellin Es Una Chimba!!!

MP is exactly right. You really need to learn Spanish before you get out. Colombia is a great place with awesome people. You can be taken advantage of easily if you don't understand basic things. A tour guide might be best for you I appreciate MP input on everything he contributes. I understand more than I speak. I have been to Colombia and had two Colombian girlfriends.

MP, why did you highlight my sentence about bringing candy for the ninos? When we go through pablo escobars tour I am sure a lot of K*ds will be watching or following. Is it wrong to bring candy for them?

When I am in another country I like to interact with the people, ill even buy beers for my newly made friends. We are going places not many gringos will go Meta is on the list along with smaller towns in Santa Fe. Being that you are new to crt, you should try Costa Rica first, if you already been to Costa Rica then try Mansion if this is your first time in Colombia. Just my opinion.

I would love to learn Spanish before I go but with my schedule that unfortunately isn't an option at the time. Once I am done with school I will learn Spanish because I plan on working abroad in central and south America.

Buddy you need to book, MP. For your safety and inexperience level. We can keep.in touch through him and if you.want you can meet us out and about. We may use MP also but not long term as my friend already speaks Spanish and mine is good enough to get around also.
You get the best experience being out in public and interaction with Colombian people. This is where MP is their to help.you. I don't have questions you will be asking that we all have our first time visiting. It's a lot more work.for MP for new guys vs veterans of Colombia. I plan to retire here in less than 20 years. I will be visiting a lot of Colombia tell I find my place to permanently live.

Just remember one thing! Medellin Es Una Chimba & if you don't walk around with a big 'ole smile on your face you are missing out on what it is all about........Candy is fine for the K*ds but you would be better off buying them some rice & beans & maybe some chicken....There are actually a lot of K*ds starving of hunger here in Medallo!!
