I have to agree...although Lemon Zest (right above them) gives them a run for the money. Two totally different types of food so hard to compare. But yes, Amancios is EXCELLENT!

Found this place last winter. Best pizza bar none in costa rica , and this is coming from a New yorker. Owner is from italy and makes his own sausage and pasta.

Loved this place. Great food, wood fired pizza oven.

Great lasagna too....I had to ask for a second plate of it last time I went.

had the lasagna myself 9 days ago @ Amancios & it was great, washed down with a couple of glasses of vino tinto. Popular place, was nearly full when I left while most of the other restaurants along the strip were nearly empty.

Amancios is decent Italian food for Costa Rica without a doubt. Make sure you try Picatta de Gollo which recently relocated to the plaza right next to Orange Pub. They make incredible Italian Pasta, fish and chicken dishes with authentic Italian meats, seasonings and sauces. Outstanding food and very reasonably priced!

Other Jaco Must Try's for the foodie in you are the Green Room, Graffitti , Side Street Cafe, Lemon Zest, Mono Verde, Taco Bar, Los Amigos, Tsunami Sushi, Jaco Rustico and Bar Asaga. There's never a reason to go hungry in Jaco. Plenty of great dining choices for everyone.

Anyone try Green Room, right outside Cocal?

Oops..how could I forget the Green Room? The food there is outstanding! Huge menu selection and great breakfast, lunch and dinner options. They have good free wifi Internet too.

Located across the street from the Vista Mar and Cocal entrance less than 1/2 a block rite before the Jaco Tour Desk.

Amancios was closed my first 3 days so I only had 1 meal which was excellent as usual.
