Just curious.......how actively do admins or tech support monitor this site, or reply to PMs?

I've attempted to renew my membership and convert to a lifetime member...........there may or may not have been glitches, and I'm reaching out to Admin1 and Admin......

How do guys sort out technical stuff?

Thanks in advance.

ps. Would love to have a normal conversation with tech support.......... how does one get in touch?

At the top of the page click on the "VIP signup!" tab. It's pretty straightforward after that.

Send Admin 3 or The Admin a pm. Admin 3 was monitoring this site pretty rigorously when the new regiome first took over. Lately, we haven't heard too much from them... except when a sponsor makes an announcement.

A week before my membership expiration date I received a stock email notification, which provided a link to the VIP signup. That's what I followed. When I attempted to renew using my email & user name, it denied access and stated in each case that the user name & email were already in use.

It seems as if I will end up with a new (permanent?) user name

Would be great if there was someone to help sort this out

it is possible that they just don't want you here anymore, Bob. Something like: "you're kind's not welcome here!" type of thing.

You're not trying to pay in colones, are you?

Very weird. I just renewed and upgraded moments ago with no hitches. Perhaps if you just renewed directly from this site, rather than through the e-mail link it will work. Give it a shot and see if that works.

I am a lifetime member and I can't login to the members area for over a year now. One of the Admins told me that it was my computer and everything on their side was working perfectly. I have 3 computers at home and all had the same problem. I have a brand new computer, factory default everything and I can't login to the members area. Members here offered a ton of suggestions but admin insisted it was on my end.

Sigh.

What was it that Groucho said:

"I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member"

I belong to other monger boards (free even) with thousands of members (several hundred active), and there always seems to be an Admin or Moddy on call, who responds in a timely manner.

As a true Newbie here, I'm still trying to feel my way, and behave as a true gentleman.

It seems as if I've suceeded in renewing under the "bigbob" ID, paid $99, but the form reply states that my new membership expires 8/18/15????????..........If I'm a lifetime member (i.e. they charged my card $99), why is there an expiration date on my membership?

In addition, I was directed to re-register in some fashion. The form email provided a link to no end????????

I hope this all gets sorted out...........

As I suspected, my old account/user name has been lost, and I've now morphed into "bigbob".......which is short for bigbadbob

Such is life in the slow lane. I'm just happy to have access to the Board again, even if BD doesn't want me.

Admin seem to think my $99 payment is good for one year (only), so I still need to sort that out......... hopefully in short order.

Which reminds me, are there any Admin living in SJO? Is it possible to actually sit down and sort this out?........or am I doomed to send endless, clarifying emails?

Bob

as of this post, you show up as a non-member. No flag on your posts.

The problem with being able to log into the forum section but not into the VIP area on the regular site is because there is two different databases for those username/passwords. I have one password that works to get into the forum and a different one that works to get into the VIP area. No idea why but that is the way it is...

Admin3 lives in Costa Rica but I haven't seen him post in forever so no idea if he is still doing it since Admin appears to be back doing some stuff with the site. Good luck is all I can say on that one...
